Hey, there and welcome to my first blog post! Words can't explain how excited I was to receive my first Colourpop parcel in the mail...

Colourpop doesn't get a whole lot of attention in Australia. Only the true makeup junkies even know the brand exists. I discovered it only six short months ago when trawling through Instagram stories.
Quickly after I made my discovery, I made my first purchase. I bought a lip gloss in the shade Aquarius (AUD $7.65), concealer in the shade Light Neutral 15 (AUD $7.65) and the product which brought me to Colourpop - the Yes, Please! eyeshadow palette (AUD $20.50).
Ok, let's get stuck into the review.
The Ultra-glossy Aquarius lip gloss is a non-sticky (hallelujah!), unscented, pinky-nude colour. It is a very versatile shade, as most nudes tend to be. It is not at all longlasting, as most lip-glosses tend not to be.
I wore this product religiously when I first got it but now when I think about it, my first reaction is to shrug my shoulders. Meh. It's okay - non sticky and a great colour, but boy does it come off quick (as soon as you drink or eat, which is understandable). It feels nice on the lips and does not leave them feeling dehydrated. But, it is really the price of this product which makes it.
Many YouTubers make the claim that Colourpop's No Filter Concealer is a dupe (or at least a very similar replica) for Tarte's famous Shape Tape. I can't confirm this because there is no way in gosh darn hell I'm paying AUD $37 for a concealer...
The formula is light and creamy. It blends out very well and provides coverage which can be built up. I have very dry skin around my eyes and struggle to find a concealer that will work for me. I find that applying this to my eyes before I put on eyeshadow helps to increase the longevity of the eyeshadow. I apply a small amount under my eyes (unlike YouTubers) and blend it upwards towards my eye.
I usually have bags under my eyes, and my skin is prone to wrinkling so a large amount of product over this area tends to highlight these flaws rather than cover them up. But that's just me.
I also apply this along the bridge of my nose towards my forehead, across my cupid's bow and on any blemishes or scars that I might have. It blends smoothly into my foundation and creates an almost flawless base. I'm a fan.
Finally, the Yes, Please! palette.
First of all, let's talk about value for money. I'll admit that the pans in the palette are not large by any standard, but $20 for 12 incredible shades!?! Am I the only one excited by this? Affordable makeup is so hard to find in Australia. And by the time you do find it, shipping fees usually mean the whole venture ends up being just as expensive as shopping locally. It's a drag.
For just AUD $13 I got my goodies delivered in less than 2 weeks. Yes, you read that right. Less than 2 weeks.
Needless to say, I was excited to try this palette. It has an unusual mix of colours which I had never seen before. Lots of yellows, golds, coppers, reds, pinks, oranges and browns. Earthy tones and orange sunsets.
The colours in this palette are truly stunning but a tiny bit powdery. I'm not sure if perhaps it was my technique but I found that they did not blend out as easily as other eyeshadows I have used in the past either.
For such amazing pigment, colour range and affordability, these flaws are almost irrelevant. I would purchase this palette again in a heartbeat! Unfortunately, due to it's popularity Yes, Please! is currently sold out. Colourpop gives you the option to register your email address to receive an alert when the palette comes back in stock. So, hang in there!
