This post is about me trying to save my skin in the wake of the Sand and Sky debacle (see my previous post for more info).

My skin has never been great but it has never been that bad either. I basically left acne behind when I left high school. While I still get occasional flare-ups around my period, my skin is largely pimple-free.

*Enter Sand and Sky*

Not anymore, loser! There's a full blown pimple sesh comin' your way.*

You should really read my previous post, otherwise I just sound weird. Weirder.

So, what's a girl to do when her skin misbehaves? Well, my alter-ego Kim Jong-un The Pimple Nuker is a passionate advocate for destroying those suckers with over-the-counter creams and DRUGZ.

Yep, you read that right - drugs. Did you think this was a family friendly blog?

Think again.

My recent flare-up, however, was not responding well to my usual tactics. I was being forced to rethink my attack. So, in a manner not dissimilar to Kim Jong-un's recent hand-holding session with South Korean President Moon Jae-in (pictured below for your satisfaction), I threw my old strategy out the window and decided to try loving my pimples instead.

Woahhh, hang on now! Why would I want to love my pimples? They're gross. Well, it's not so much that I wanted to love my pimples as I wanted to love my skin. This meant that I had to ditch the nuclear warheads of my Acne War - my Benzac Daily Facial Foam Cleanser and my ClindaTech Acne Treatment Topical Solution. Please note - these are not bad products! They are just what I would call 'strong', or maybe harsh is a better description.

This was a historic day (as I've already mentioned a couple of times, extremely similar to the one currently happening in Korea). The public was left with many burning questions - namely, what would I be using on my skin instead?

Armed with a $30 Mecca Cosmetica gift voucher I got from my Nan for my birthday (thanks, Nan!), I made my way to my local store to harass the staff for loving skincare advice.

I was told to try the REN 'Evercalm' range. Apparently this range has been specially designed with sensitive skin in mind. So, I purchased the Gentle Cleansing Milk and was also given some samples of the Day Cream and Eye Cream. Here's hoping that a bit of TLC can solve my acne woes...

I'll be checking in with you all over the next few weeks to see if there's any improvement in my skin. For reference, here is a really ugly picture of my face that will serve as a 'Before' image.

In my next update, I'll provide some information on what the Evercalm range is supposed to do for your skin and analyse if my skin has made any improvements.

Cross your fingers for me!

* As I mentioned in my previous post, my experience with this product may not necessarily reflect your own. Different skin types and preferences mean that what works for you, may not work for me and vice versa. Given the large quantity of positive views on the Sand and Sky website, I do believe that this product is very effective for some people.
