This is a 2-in-1 review of BH Cosmetic's Wild and Radiant Baked Illuminating and Bronzing Palette and Smashbox's Always On Liquid Lipstick in the shade Babe Alert.

Having always heard good things about BH Cosmetics but never purchased anything myself, I decided the Christmas sales were a good opportunity to splurge!

I am not a huge collector of bronzers, in fact, I only own a handful. The Wild and Radiant palette contains four different bronzers and highlights. Unfortunately, I didn't read the product reviews before I purchased the palette. If I had, I would've discovered that it is great for darker skin tones, which is, well... not me. But, this is fantastic news for the darker skinned guys and gals who are so miserably underrepresented in the beauty world!

It also doesn't mean it is unusable on me - while I probably won't use the darkest shade (like, ever) the lighter ones give my skin a beautiful, subtle glow. I used the darker shade on the bottom of the palette to dust my forehead, cheek bones, jawline and collarbones.

This product is extremely shimmery - which is something to keep in mind. It is not glittery, but definitely has a shine to it, so if you like a matte bronzer - don't go there, girlfriend.

While I feel like a bit of a noob for not reading the product reviews, I am still overall very happy with this product and definitely feel like I will get a lot of use out of it. The palette is also extremely affordable. I got mine on sale but even at full price it is just AUD $11.

I purchased this palette on November 29th and received it on December 22nd - which is quite fast considering the Christmas period always slows postal times. The shipping cost was also very low - under AUD $10.

As for Smashbox's liquid lipstick range, I love the shade Babe Alert. I am, however, kicking myself that I didn't buy a lip liner to match it because I am horrible at applying my lipstick to my lips and only my lips.

Although, when I went to Mecca Cosmetica to see if they sold a matching lip liner shade I was a tad confused when I couldn't find an exact match. Given that the lip liner range by Smashbox is called "Always Sharp" you might assume, like me, that they might match the "Always On" liquid lipsticks. But, like me, you would be wrong (I'm not bitter, you are!).

The applicator is not the usual doe-foot shape. Instead of curving at the top, the applicator meets a point. I suppose this is to try and make negotiating the corners of your mouth a bit easier. To be honest, I don't find it to be of much help at all.

I like the formula which Smashbox uses, however, it is no Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick - the holy grail of liquid lipsticks.

I do have dry lips, particularly during the changing of season, so I have to exfoliate and apply a balm before putting on any matte liquid lip. Despite doing both of these things, I did find that I experienced some crumbling on the lips.

The shade Babe Alert is one of my favourite lip colours to date. It's a kind of burnt orange with a pink undertone (it matched my dress in the picture almost perfectly) and it looks stunning with blue eyes (contrast and all that jazz).

One of these lipsticks will set you back AUD $35 but I think I would venture to say that it is worth it. I definitely want to try more shades to see if the others are as beautiful as Babe Alert.
