A lifetime ago, I promised you all a new Colourpop review. Well, my order has finally arrived! I'm eager to delve into the Dream St palette and to see how it measures up to it's older sibling, the Yes, Please! palette. Let's go.

The Dream St palette was created in conjunction with YouTube sensation Kathleen Lights. Kathleen has done a few different projects with Colourpop but this is the first one that has really tickled my fancy and piqued my interest enough to make a purchase.
I decided to use this palette to try and re-create my favourite makeup look from this year's Grammy Awards. Makeup artist Mary Phillips created a mermaid-esque look on Hailee Steinfeld that was simply stunning.

We look like twins, right? Ok, so maybe Mary's version is a tiny bit better than mine...
Let's get into the details.
I made my order on January 8th and received it today - the 2nd of February. Colourpop's shipping times continue to disappoint me. C'mon, I live in Australia not on Mars!
This palette cost USD $16 plus $10 for shipping. In total I paid USD $26, which works out to roughly AUD $32.50. For this price you get 12 eyeshadows for about AUD $1.65 each...
Talk about value for money! In comparison, a single eyeshadow from Makeup Geek (which are almost the same size as a pan in a Colourpop palette) is AUD $7.50.
The formula of this palette is identical to that of the Yes, Please! palette (well, at least I assume it is). So, my likes and dislikes are pretty much the same as in my last Colourpop review.
The shadows have a lot of pigment but are somewhat chalky and can appear patchy on the lid. I find that they are not as easy to blend as I would like either. This means that if you accidentally apply too much product in a particular spot (like I did) that blending out your mistake becomes a challenge. I would definitely advise that anyone using these shadows start with a light hand and slowly build the product up.

To mimic Mary's look I used the dark blue shade (Water Bearer) and the shimmery green (Mermaid Boy), as well as, a little bit of the dark green (Kia) from the Saharan palette by Juvia's Place - which I promised to try after my initial review of that palette. To highlight my inner corner and brow bone, I used the beautiful silver (Kaleidoscope) from the Dream St palette.
My opinion of the Dream St palette is very similar to my feelings towards the Yes, Please! palette - I love the colour selection and how pigmented the shadows are. I think they are great value for money, even without a mirror, somewhat small pan sizes, and relatively cheap packaging. However, I think these shadows are a bit hyped up. They do not blend as easily as some people claim and I find them to be a pit patchy too. But, this could be my application - have you tried this palette, what do you think?
